Welcome to The Learning Crumb

Are you curious about educational technology and digital learning? Want a place to share your ideas? Looking for short, interesting blog posts about the latest in edTech? You’re in the right place.

The Learning Crumb is a neutral, honest space that is free of corporate spiel.

We are an independent voice on digtial learning technology, led by Dr Laura Sheerman (if you're interested see the 'Publications Tab'), an academic and digital learning practitioner, who wants to cut through the 'noise' in the edtech field to offer real value, spark conversation, and perspective to support real world innovation.

Free of advertisements and commercial interests, The Learning Crumb offers an accessible space to share perspectives and opinions on digital education.

Discussion Point: What does it mean to use educational technology effectively?

With an enormous drive to use digital technology led by educational sector bodies, there are few guidelines on what constitutes 'effective use'. What should we consider? Where are there tensions between classroom practice and integration? How do we stop tech use being just another 'tick-box' exercise with little impact?

I invite you to pause and consider: what does the effective use of technology in education really mean?  Feel free to post your views & thoughts below in response to this question, or any of the blog pieces presented.
